Google Discontinued Google Reader
On July1 Google discontinued its reader. A tool that helps to get all the headlines and articles from selected websites on to a single place.

This was a great tool which provides the great information at one place from various news services, blogs and companies I follow. Major drawback of discontinuing the Google reader is that all the data will be deleted systematically from Google. Skype 3D Video Calls
On the occasion of 10th anniversary of Skype in an interview with BBC Mark Gillett vice-president of Skype recently told that they are working for 3D video calls on Skype and all the lab work has been done.
But the main problem will be that there are very less number of user having 3D devices i.e. televisions or computer monitors. 3d technology has not been taken to the standard with the issues having with it such as the absence of great material, or the lack of glass-less 3D devices plaguing the entertainment industry. Supporters like ESPN and Disney are scrapping their 3d TV stations and 3d home amusement devices are not selling as much as device makers expected them to sell.
According to a report, vice-president also told that they are working on a technique where multiple cameras need to attach on a computer system to make it work in practical with supporting devices.
Gillett told BBC about the supporting devices. “But the capture devices are not yet there. As we work with that kind of technology, you have to add multiple cameras to your computer, precisely calibrate them, and point them at the right angle.”

Google Page Rank Update September 2013
Google last page rank was updated in early February. Normally Google updates their page rank with 3-4 months. Now, it's more than six month and every webmaster is awaiting this update.

It has been revealed in Studies that the Shares of Facebook and Twitter Tweets play a vital role in SERP. Whereas too many ADD’s on a page are likely to have a negative effect on search engine visibility. A new study by a social analytic company Search metrics reveals this.
Some key discoveries of the study are highlighted:
EMD Domain’s always on top of results: Contradictory to the reports, sites with magic words in the area name, for example cheapflights.com still are best in the rankings despite the fact that Google has over and over said that the Exact Match Domains will gradually fall in searches.
Quality of links is crucial: The amount of back-links is still an important factor in predicting Google rankings. For better benefits, website back-links must be natural instead of creating artificial links.
This implies that a site should not have a large number of back-links perfectly optimized with Anchor text for all the keywords want to be ranked. Back-links should be of different varieties/ quantity / proportion. Back-links should be a mixture of “no-follow” and “Do-follow”, use Stop words in anchor texts and many more.
Effect of Social Media in Search Results: Maximum number of Facebook shares of a web page has a strongest connection with Google Ranking. Facebook is placed on top of Google ranking factors. Yet twitter is behind from Facebook but is still the sixth strongest variable.
